Same script,different presidents
Same
scripts read by different presidents. They tell us what our problems
are and admit their faults, what they want to do and you hear the cheers
and boos and bam that is the state of the nation's address.
Pragmatic solutions don't really form part of the address. Mark it on
the wall if the president gets to stay in power and gets the opportunity
to do this again it won't be any different.
The true state of
Ghana is that we have been taken for a ride too long by the politicians
but suddenly we are waking up and asking for more.
I can't be
impressed because the president can express himself so he was able to
string words together. That would mean am a stack illiterate hearing
good English for the first time.
As for the MPs who sat there
and say yah yah to promises like free laptops, they should bow their
heads in shame and imagine themselves in the US house of senates and
Obama telling them that and see how disgraceful that will sound. That
laptop dash was indeed not a necessary part of the state of the nation's
address but I guess we have a populist President so it felt good
telling us all that. That to me was like telling us he will buy free
panties for the Lordina.
Who needs to hear all that?
Oya let's go and work.
